What PeerMesh does not require
PeerMesh is designed to work without traditional account registration.
PeerMesh currently does not require an email address, phone number, social media account, real name, or public profile.
This allows PeerMesh to support group coordination without building a traditional identity-based social network.
Information PeerMesh may process
Depending on how you use the app, PeerMesh may process information needed to provide communication, maps, nearby coordination, synchronization, and shared awareness features.
This may include group messages, group membership information, device identifiers used for local communication and synchronization, shared markers, shared areas, shared observations, trail data, location data when location-related features are enabled, and basic technical data needed for reliability, debugging, and service operation.
Location data
PeerMesh may access location information when you choose to use location-related features such as maps, location sharing, nearby communication, or trails.
Location sharing is intended to support real-world coordination between people who choose to participate in the same group or nearby room.
PeerMesh does not currently maintain a permanent GPS history of user movement.
Trail data
PeerMesh may store trail data created by users.
Trail data is controlled by the user who creates it. Trails are not public by default.
A trail is visible only to the creator and to people or groups the creator explicitly chooses to share it with.
Shared awareness data
Shared awareness data may include markers, areas, observations, notes, trails, and related group coordination information.
This data exists to help group members build a shared understanding of places, routes, movement, and real-world conditions.
Shared awareness data is visible only within the groups, rooms, or sharing contexts where the user chooses to share it.
Encryption and data transmission
PeerMesh encrypts shared content before it is transmitted through BLE mesh or cloud synchronization.
This includes messages, group coordination data, nearby room data, shared awareness data, and trail data.
Only intended recipients are designed to be able to decrypt and read shared content. The PeerMesh development team, registry operators, relay operators, and synchronization infrastructure are not intended recipients and cannot read encrypted shared content.
How PeerMesh uses information
PeerMesh uses information only to support product functionality, including group messaging, nearby communication, shared maps, location sharing, trail sharing, synchronization, reliability, security, debugging, and product improvement.
PeerMesh does not use personal data for advertising-driven data selling.
Data sharing
PeerMesh does not sell personal data.
PeerMesh may transmit encrypted data through relay, registry, or synchronization infrastructure to operate the service.
PeerMesh may share information only when necessary to operate core functionality, deliver or synchronize user data, comply with legal obligations, protect users or the service, or resolve security or abuse issues.
Shared content remains encrypted before transmission and is designed to be readable only by intended recipients.
Data retention
PeerMesh retains data only as long as needed to provide product functionality, synchronization, reliability, security, debugging, or legal compliance.
Different types of data may have different retention behavior. Nearby Room data may expire quickly. Group data may persist while the group exists. Trail data may remain until the user deletes it or removes sharing.
Data deletion
Users may delete local app data from their device.
Users may delete or stop sharing trails and group data where supported by the app.

Nearby Rooms
Nearby Rooms are temporary spaces for people physically nearby.
They are not private groups. Messages and shared content inside a Nearby Room may be visible to participants in that room.
Do not share sensitive information in Nearby Rooms. Use Private Groups for trusted coordination.
Security
PeerMesh uses technical safeguards such as encryption before transmission and access control based on group, room, or sharing context.
However, no system can guarantee absolute security.
Users should avoid sharing sensitive information in Nearby Rooms or with people they do not trust.
Children’s privacy
PeerMesh is not intended for children under the minimum age required by applicable law.
This section should be reviewed before public release and Google Play submission.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as PeerMesh evolves.
Material changes should be communicated clearly through the website or application.
